Kakadia Bhavan offer training Programme for the Candidates who are preparing for the UPSC/GPSC Civil Service (Preliminary/ Main examination and other competitive exams) Civil Services Examination is considered to be nation's most prestigious and toughest of all exams. CIVIL SERVICES EXAM: INTRODUCTION

The Civil Services Examination is the most important competitive examination conducted at all India level by UPSC.

STAGE II: MAIN EXAMINATION

This is the second and most important phase of the Civil Service Examination in which the candidates are admitted after passing the Preliminary examination. About 15k-16k candidates are filtered for writing the main examination from the total appearing in preliminary exam. The questions asked in the main examination are subjective in nature. The subjects covered in main examination consist of four GS papers, one paper on Essay writing, two papers - ONE optional subject chosen and two are compulsory language papers (one is English language and other one the Indian language mentioned in 8th schedule of the Constitution). In the main examination a descriptive answer is expected in organized manner.

Faculty: Subject experts form universities, SPIPA are invited to deliver lectures. On other side senior civil servants are called as guest lectures. Personalities of great eminence are also called to deliver special lectures.

Duration of the Course: 6 Months

Eligibility Criteria: Bachelor's degree in any discipline recognized by the UGC.

Admission Process: Admissions shall be granted to all eligible candidates according to the merit list prepared on the basis of the score of the ‘’Entrance Test and Personal Interview’’ in case number of applications exceeds the intake. The date, time, and venue of the "Entrance Test" shall be notified to the candidates through SMS on their mobile phones.

Who can apply for the course: Candidates Preparing for the UPSC/GPSC Civil Service Examination.

Fee Structure: The fees as decided by the University is Rs. 11000/- for the whole course. The fees once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances

NET /SLET Programme

We at M.L. Kakadia Bhavan offer training Programme for the Candidates who are preparing for National Eligibility Test/ State Level Eligibility Test. UGC-NET is a test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for ‘Assistant Professor’ and ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ in Indian universities and colleges. National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the UGC NET exam. It is conducted twice in a year in the month of June and December. Examination is conducted in Computer Based Test Mode only. We prepare students only for Paper I which is common for all students who are writing NET/SLET exam.

In UGC NET paper-I, which is, General Paper on Teaching and Research Aptitude, questions are asked from the following subjects/sections:

UGC NET syllabus for paper-II differs as per the subject chosen by the candidate

Pattern of Examination: The Test consist of two papers. Both the papers are of objective type, multiple choice questions. There is no break between the papers.

Eligibility Criteria: General category candidates who get 55% marks (50% for SC / ST) in Post Graduate Degree in any discipline recognized by the UGC.

Admission Process: Admissions shall be granted to all eligible candidates according to the merit list prepared on the basis of the score of the ‘’Entrance Test and Personal Interview’’ in case number of applications exceeds the intake. The date, time, and venue of the "Entrance Test" shall be notified to the candidates through SMS on their mobile phones

Who can apply for the course: Candidates Preparing for the NET/SLET.

Fee Structure: The fees as decided by the University is Rs.12000/- for the whole course. The fees once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.


Combined Defence Services

"Combined defence Services (CDS) exams conducted by UPSC twice a year. It is an entrance exam for the Indian Military Academy (IMA), Indian Naval Academy (INA), Air Force Academy (AFA) and Officers" Training Academy (OTA) after graduation. The entrance exam is a combination of three subjects English, General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics.

Pattern of Examination: The CDS Selection Process is divided into two stages:

CDS exam pattern for Written Exam

• The question paper in the written exam is objective type only.
• For mathematics, the standard of questions asked of 10th level whereas for other subjects the standard of the paper will be of graduation level.
• The question paper of General knowledge and Elementary Mathematics are set bilingually as well as English

INTELLIGENCE AND PERSONALITY TEST

The Services Selection Board procedure consists of two stage Selection process - stage I and stage II. Only those candidates who clear the stage I are permitted to appear for stage II. The details are:

(a) Stage I comprises of Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests are Picture Perception* Description Test (PP&DT). The candidates will be shortlisted based on combination of performance in OIR Test and PP&DT.

(b) Stage II Comprises of Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and the Conference. These tests are conducted over 4 days. The details of these tests are given on the website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.

The personality of a candidate is assessed by three different assessors viz. The Interviewing Officer (IO), Group Testing Officer (GTO) and the Psychologist. There are no separate weightage for each test. The marks are allotted by assessors only after taking into consideration the performance of the candidate holistically in all the test. In addition, marks for Conference are also allotted based on the initial performance of the Candidate in the three techniques and decision of the Board. All these have equal weightage.

The various tests of IO, GTO and Psych are designed to bring out the presence/absence of Officer Like Qualities and their trainability in a candidate. Accordingly candidates are Recommended or Not Recommended at the SSB.

For I.M.A. and Officers’ Training Academy - The candidate should have a graduation degree (any subject) from a recognized University or equivalent.

For Indian Naval Academy - The candidate should have completed their Graduation in Engineering from a recognized University/Institution.

For Air Force Academy - The candidate should hold a bachelor's degree from a recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.

Admission Process: Admissions shall be granted to all eligible candidates according to the merit list prepared on the basis of the score of the ‘’Entrance Test and Personal Interview’’ in case number of applications exceeds the intake. The date, time, and venue of the "Entrance Test" shall be notified to the candidates through SMS on their mobile phones.

Who can apply for the course: Candidates Preparing for the combined Defence Services.

Fee Structure: The fees as decided by the University is Rs.5000 /- for the whole course. The fees once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances.
