The core objective of the programme is to make students acquaint with various aspects of accounts and with the help of which financial statement are prepared by businessman/company so that it can be analysed properly. Students/scholars can make their career as accountant, businessman, consultant, assistant professor and so on once they acquire master’s degree in commerce .

Eligibility Criteria
A candidate who has obtained Bachelor’s Degree with 40% (for Open / SEBC category) shall be eligible to apply for admission in courses of commerce faculty. (Relaxation will be given for reserve category candidates as per existing government rules)
A candidate will be considered eligible for admission to M.Com. Degree course only if he/she has passed the Bachelor’s Degree (B.Com.) (Special) examination with English as one of the subject or B.B.A. Degree course.
Candidates who have passed the B.Com. Degree (special) examination without English are eligible for the admission to M.Com. Degree course, provided, he/ she shall be required to attend the orientation classes in English to be conducted by the respective P.G. Centres. The students must register (2/3) attendance in such orientation classes.
A candidate who has passed the B.Com. / BBA Degree examination at least in Second class may select M.Com. Financial & Management Accountancy.

With this objective the Department of Commerce was established in the year 2010.The Department of Commerce , Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat-Gujarat, offers specialization in the subject of ‘Financial & Management Accounting’, 'Marketing', and 'Statistics' which includes multidisciplinary areas of Economics, Management, Finance, Accounting, Marketing ,Statistics, soft skills etc. The Department also offers various certificate courses which are much need of the hour. The department offers an innovative and flexible learning environment with excellent staffs. This holistic approach will help the student in the overall development as they will be converse with various aspects of the society. Emphasis is laid down to cater the local and global needs of employability in the field of commerce/finance. Furthermore, department has taken an initiative towards women empowerment by introducing a dedicated batch for girls students. Objective of Program
The core objective of the programme is to make students acquaint with various aspects of accounts and with the help of which financial statement are prepared by businessman/company so that it can be analysed properly. Students/scholars can make their career as accountant, businessman, consultant, assistant professor and so on once they acquire master’s degree in commerce .
