Department of Interior Design

About Department

The Department of interior design establishment as result of several forces of the design fraternity who came up together to create a platform for the young generation to explore the vast field of Interior Design along with Fine Arts, which was lesser known to the city then. The department is involved in the learning through experimentation with materials hands on and creating sensitivity towards environmental issues. Department provide the teaching with competence to assimilate the multiple dimensions of architectural task to govern a qualitative built interior environment. The student is made to realize a varied aspect of design that create an interior environment through varied subjects of aesthetics, Spatial human behavioral patterns, use of material application of technology and services. Department monitoring the overall progress of the student with multiple skills.

History of the Department

The Establishment of B.ID, VNSGU. was a result of several forces of the design fraternity who came up together to create a platform for the young generation to explore the vast field of Interior Design along with Fine Arts, which was lesser known to the city then. The initiative taken by the Lt. Shri Jagdeep Smart and Shri Kapildev Shukla along with the support of Ex-Vice Chancellor Mr. Deshkar back in to 2006 has completed 13 years journey this year in 2019. Looking back at the glorious past of the institute it has travelled a long way and raised the bar up to a very high level.

Vision

Nurturing abilities through transforming imagination to build environment. Learning through experimentation with materials hands on. Creating sensitivity towards environmental issues. Training an individual to create qualitative physical environment. Teaching the use of appropriate technological solutions..

Mission

Using resources responsibly. Teaching the process of problem solving. Understanding history and its application to modern times. To create value system and competence to assimilate the multiple dimensions of architectural task to govern a qualitative built interior environment.

The Philosophy of the Department

An Interior Environment is the most primary, functional and a multi layered experiential extension of a Human Being acting upon the physiology and his emotions. Its existence lies, between the realm of Art and Architecture. It can be a piece of Art or a Functional Machine, intense or relaxed, traditional or modern, supported by appropriate technology and climatic solutions comforting the human being. An understanding of economic constraints, client approaches, dynamic global trends and response to the conditioning of mind, body and soul. Such understanding of the interior environment is aim at and realized a BID. A design student is made to realize a varied aspect of design that create an Interior Environment through varied subjects of aesthetics, Spatial Human behavioural patterns, use of material application of technology and services. All together, the design, graphical and technical skills of a student is worked upon and nurtured
