Faculty-wise Basket of Major, Minor, Multidisciplinary, Ability Enhancement, Skill Enhancement, and Value-Added Courses Veer Narmad South Gujarat University has adopted the Curriculum and Credit Framework for Undergraduate Programs (CCF-UG), as prescribed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Government of Gujarat. This framework outlines the structure for a Four-Year Undergraduate Program with flexible Multiple Entry and Exit options in line with the objectives of NEP 2020. Beginning from the academic year 2023-24, the University has implemented the Four-Year Honours Program across all faculties—except in programs governed by apex regulatory bodies-ensuring alignment with national academic reforms. | 3. Registration of Students in Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) In alignment with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Government of Gujarat, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU) has established a National Academic Depository and Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) Cell to ensure the active and seamless implementation of the Academic Bank of Credits system. The University has registered with the ABC platform and integrated the ABC ID within its ERP system from the outset. A mandatory provision has been introduced requiring all students to register on the ABC portal prior to filling their examination forms. Furthermore, students’ ABC IDs are printed on their hall tickets, ensuring institutional-level tracking and verification. VNSGU is recognized as one of the leading universities in India in terms of ABC registration and integration. ![]() Hon'ble Minister Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Ministry of Education, New Delhi felicitated Dr. Kishorsinh Chavda, Vice Chancellor, VNSGU for being highest registration on ABC with all credit data on 13th February 2024 at New Delhi. To support student mobility and academic flexibility, the University has formulated a Student Transfer Policy, allowing students to transfer between affiliated colleges based on merit and choice. In accordance with the credit-based framework, students are allowed to enter or re-enter academic programs at various stages, including at the semester level, based on the number of credits earned. To facilitate the implementation of the UGC’s guidelines on Simultaneous Enrollment in Two Academic Programs and to simplify inter-university mobility, the University has discontinued the issuance of traditional Transfer Certificates and revised the procedure for issuing the Final Eligibility Certificate, aligning it with ABC mechanisms. > National Academic Depository (NAD) Cell and Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) Cell |
| 4. Redesign of Course Curriculum Aligned with Defined Credits Veer Narmad South Gujarat University has adopted the Curriculum and Credit Framework for Undergraduate Programs (CCF-UG), as prescribed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Government of Gujarat. This framework provides a structured model for a Four-Year Undergraduate Program that incorporates multiple levels of exit and entry, offering greater flexibility and learner-centric progression. In line with this framework, the University has undertaken a comprehensive redesign of course curricula across all faculties, aligning them with the prescribed credit structure and academic requirements of the CCF-UG. The newly designed curriculum ensures the integration of: • Discipline-specific core courses This curriculum reform marks a significant step toward realizing the academic vision of NEP 2020, promoting academic flexibility, innovation, and holistic education. > Credit Framework GR issed by Government Dtd. 11-07-2023 > SOP issued by KCG Dtd. 25-07-2023 > Curriculum of UG programs (except apex bodies programs) in aligned with defined credits as per GR of State Government under NEP 2020 |
| 5. Indian Knowledge System (IKS) In alignment with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University has taken significant strides to promote and institutionalize the Indian Knowledge System (IKS),renamed by the University as Bharatiya Knowledge System to reflect its indigenous character. To serve as the focal point for IKS initiatives, the University has established the Centre for Hindu Studie as a dedicated Centre for Indian Knowledge System, offering: • M.A. in Hindu Studies(introduced from Academic Year 2022–23) • Certificate Course in Sanskrit Sambhashan (introduced from Academic Year 2023–24) The University is actively integrating IKS elements across various curricula and has launched a wide range of certificate programs to foster understanding and application of traditional Indian wisdom. The University has implemented the UGC Guidelines for Faculty Training and Orientation on IKS, conducting: • An Orientation Program on 2nd August 2023 • A One-Day Workshop on 22nd August 2023 for faculty members of the University and affiliated colleges In further commitment to IKS: • The University offers M.A. Sanskrit and M.A. Hindi programs on a Self-Financed basis, with fees aligned to Grant-in-Aid program norms. • Statute 219 under then VNSGU Act, 1965 has been amended to formally recognize the Departments of Sanskrit and Department of Hindi as statutory departments. • Elements of Indian heritage, such as Saraswati and Ganapati Vandana, Agnihotra, Taittiriya Upanishad (Shikshavalli Acharya Upadesh), and Vedic Rashtra Gaan, have been institutionalized as integral components of the University Convocation Ceremony. Moreover, a mandatory course titled “Bharatiya Knowledge System – An Introduction” has been introduced in the first semester of all undergraduate programs (excluding those governed by apex bodies), ensuring that every student gains foundational exposure to Indian civilizational values and traditional knowledge systems. Apart from this, the University has developed other courses on IKS under VAC basket for Sem - 2 to 4 and also incorporated 4.4 credits of IKS curriculum in Major courses too. |

Introduction of New Programs and Courses In line with the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and in response to evolving academic and industry needs, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University has introduced a wide range of innovative Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Diploma, and Certificate programs across diverse disciplines. Undergraduate Programs • B.Com. (Data Analytics) • BBA with specializations in: • Business Analytics • M.Sc. (Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning) Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma Programs • PG Diploma in Herbal Technology and Integrated Wellness Certificate Programs (Foreign Languages) To promote global competencies and multilingual skills among students, Veer Narmad South Gujarat University has introduced Certificate Courses in the following foreign languages: • French As of now: • Two batches of the Russian Language Certificate Course and have been successfully completed, with students acquiring foundational language skills aligned with global standards. These foreign languages courses aim to enhance students’ international mobility, cultural understanding, and employability in a globalized job market.These newly launched programs reflect the University’s commitment to academic innovation, skill development, and multidisciplinary learning, while enhancing student employability and aligning with global trends. |

VNSGU Institutional Development Plan (IDP) Veer Narmad South Gujarat University has prepared a comprehensive Institutional Development Plan (IDP) in alignment with the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat (KCG) to facilitate the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The IDP outlines the University’s strategic vision, academic reforms, infrastructural development, capacity-building initiatives, and quality enhancement measures aimed at transforming the higher education landscape in accordance with NEP 2020 objectives.
